How Does the ESA Help Enigin?
Hi, in my last blog I suppose I gave what is really an introduction to the Energy Saving Association and my role here at Enigin in relation to that. As I promised to keep blogging (having started), I think in this one I should change the emphasis a little.
Last time I was really talking about how Enigin and the other Council Members contribute to the success of the ESA, however it is not a one way street. There are many resources on the ESA website that we do not contribute and so, just like any other member, we benefit from the expertise and experience that our colleagues in other companies put into the Association.
One key area for us is the articles section. These are different from the great news feeds on the site in that they are normally of greater length and so can be a little more in depth, and they really do cover some fascinating subject areas.
For example, I already know that early in the New Year there is going to be a series of articles on the various green funding initiatives from Governments all around the world. I am told that these will look at the subject in general and then focus on which countries offer the most (or the best), what the take up has been and most importantly – how easy it is for companies to access them.
Although we at Enigin are at the forefront of energy saving technology, we can still learn more about what is happening out there, help our distributors to help their own clients and who knows – even make sure we are not missing out here at HQ!
Another major piece being worked on is one that I am really looking forward to: an in depth product test on LED lighting and a comparison with CFL. Am I the only one a bit confused by the rapidly growing market for LED’s and the myriad options available? Also, do they all live up to the claims made for them in terms of life and performance, especially compared to what we are all used to? I’m no expert, but fortunately there is an ESA member who is and he is currently testing like mad so that his report will help me and others understand this technology.
I’ll keep you posted…..
