How Does the ESA Help Enigin?

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

Hi, in my last blog I suppose I gave what is really an introduction to the Energy Saving Association and my role here at Enigin in relation to that. As I promised to keep blogging (having started), I think in this one I should change the emphasis a little.

Last time I was really talking about how Enigin and the other Council Members contribute to the success of the ESA, however it is not a one way street. There are many resources on the ESA website that we do not contribute and so, just like any other member, we benefit from the expertise and experience that our colleagues in other companies put into the Association.

One key area for us is the articles section. These are different from the great news feeds on the site in that they are normally of greater length and so can be a little more in depth, and they really do cover some fascinating subject areas.

For example, I already know that early in the New Year there is going to be a series of articles on the various green funding initiatives from Governments all around the world. I am told that these will look at the subject in general and then focus on which countries offer the most (or the best), what the take up has been and most importantly – how easy it is for companies to access them.

Although we at Enigin are at the forefront of energy saving technology, we can still learn more about what is happening out there, help our distributors to help their own clients and who knows – even make sure we are not missing out here at HQ!

Another major piece being worked on is one that I am really looking forward to: an in depth product test on LED lighting and a comparison with CFL. Am I the only one a bit confused by the rapidly growing market for LED’s and the myriad options available? Also, do they all live up to the claims made for them in terms of life and performance, especially compared to what we are all used to? I’m no expert, but fortunately there is an ESA member who is and he is currently testing like mad so that his report will help me and others understand this technology.

I’ll keep you posted…..

Enigin - Council Member of the ESA

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

EniginThe Voice of Enigin, that’s quite a title, however I will not be speaking for the company on all matters! I will be posting regarding Enigin’s status as a Council Member with the Energy Saving Association (ESA).

The ESA is an excting, global association of organisations, companies and individuals who believe that energy efficiency is the single most important future source of energy. Most of the ESA members work in the energy saving industry, but by no means all of them. The association is a superb opportunity for those within the industry, or who have a serious interest in energy saving, to exchange views, advice, news and help with their fellow memebers right around the world.

Here at Enigin,  we are delighted to be a Council Member of the ESA. Council Members are invited on board to provide input in many different ways and we believe that the association has an excellent core of expertise, drawn from many different backgrounds, to help all of its members.

With its highly topical news feeds, articles, white papers, forums and Annual Conference, the ESA keeps members at the forefront of energy saving technology and the latest thinking regarding climate change. Here at Enigin, we believe that this resource and platform for interaction is absoulutely essential and this is why we are so pleased to be involved.

As a Council Member, Enigin is of course a major contributor to the various resources on the ESA website…and this is where I come in. My role is to represent the company on the ESA and to co-ordinate our input in terms of articles, white papers, forums etc. Also, at the moment the website is going through a re-design which will lead to even more resources and features in early 2010, and as Enigin’s “man at the ESA” I am very much enjoying having some input into this.

So, my future blogs will keep you updated on how we’re doing, what’s new and what’s to come at the ESA.

Hello world!
